Sensory Processing Involves:
Taking in information from our senses
Sorting and filtering this information
Interpreting this information to make sense of our world and
   responding appropriately
Children with sensory processing difficulties may ...
Have difficulty coping with changes in routine
Not like the touch and feel of specific things and/or clothing or shoes
Excessively touch all objects and people
Resist and find grooming routines uncomfortable, eg, teeth brushing,
   hair washing, nail & hair cutting
Avoid certain tastes and textures
Over or under-react to specific situations
Avoid or dislike messy play
Not like their feet leaving the ground or travelling in cars, up escalators
   or in lifts
Always have to be chewing on something e.g. ends of pencils, shirt
   collars, sleeves etc.
Always spin and rock themself
Always be on the go!!
